Yes you can!

Afterwards you still need to push your changes to the remote server though.

And also, check your name and email address in the git repo by typing:

git config --list

The way to modify this is in the doc:
https://tails.boum.org/contribute/how/translate/

The same is true for Poedit, quoting from our doc:
"When setting up Poedit, you might want to ensure to use "Tails
translators" or "Tails developers" as translator name and
"tails@???" as translator contact email address."
