Subject: [Tails-dev] UEFI boot failure on Mac Pro Tower (A1188)
Hi folks--

I tried to boot a beta generation of the UEFI preview on a Mac Pro Tower
(Model No. A1188). At the chime, i held down option, and the stick
showed up as an orange "EFI device" with the USB logo on it. Clicking
on that icon froze the machine and nothing else happened.

From Mac OS X, "About this Mac" shows:

Mac Pro Tower from Early 2008
2x2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

The image i used was a "beta generation" from:

fwiw, i *can* successfully boot a USB stick on which i've installed
grub-efi 2.00-22 (from debian) using this same approach. Have you
considered using grub as your UEFI bootloader? (i imagine this
discussion could verge on a religious war, so please feel free to point
me to a summary instead of reopening old wounds).

Thanks for maintaining Tails.
