Hi, that looks alright! Welcome to the world of git ;)

First of all I ran msgfmt on your file and it gave me a couple of minor
errors:

$ msgfmt --check wiki/src/index.it.po

wiki/src/index.it.po:6: header field `Language-Team' missing in header
wiki/src/index.it.po:6: warning: header field `Language' still has the
initial default value

And also, the `wikipedia_it` shortcut hasn't been defined. That's a
ikiwiki internal that should defined in `wiki/src/shortcuts.mdwn`.

Actually if you are using git it could also be cool for you to learn how
to build the wiki on your machine, so that you can verify how the pages
looks like once translated. That would imply creating yourself a custom
ikiwiki.setup file to build the wiki.

But if that's becoming too tricky for you that's ok. People have been
contributing translations without having this set up.

A part from that it seems like you know how to deal with PO files. Great
news, and keep up with the good work!

It would be important to have more stuff translated before activating it
on the website but in the meantime, don't hesitate to ask us for review
whenever you have new stuff available on your git.
