the net_institute kernel was designed to use the web as a collaborative
environment to construct urban and cultural networks and to organise also the
internal structures of projects, communities, organisations. in particular, the
kernel is used to develope the net_institute itself. on a political and
cultural level, the kernel was born to trig new practices based on the strong
relation between landscape and mediascape, the city and the net. the kernel is
a powerful tool for urban networking and intervention, to catalyse social life
and public debates. the kernel helps in perceiving the conflict between
landscape and mediascape and in experiencing the city as a modifiable interface
and not as an established one.
la mappa non e' accessibile dalla wayback, da qualche parte ho anche i sorgenti
forse. da quel che ricordo era un'immagine statica della mappa di bologna,
su cui venivano disegnati dei punti e delle connessioni (php3 + imagemagick)
da net-institute sarebbe poi nata indymedia italia,
ma quella e' un'altra storia....
