Dear Laplist folk,
Our alliance has just been joined by The Peace Strike and they wanted you to know a little about them in case you can give some solidarity support to them in London.
The Peace Strike was established in 2007 as a Pre-emptive campaign to stop war by calling strikes.
Palestine is dying right in front of our own eyes. At Peace Strike we organise strikes and encourage Peace Pickets.
Your camp is at Lakenheath, by a US Airbase. We are opposite the US EMBASSY London. We would like to link with your camp to join the Strike.
We are trying to organise a global strike for Palestine. We need to raise the profile and are trying to instigate Peace Pickets in UK and as many countries as possible. We have made links with codepink and Col.Ann Wright has endorsed the idea.
We use the hash tags #OnStrike4Peace #StrikeForGaza #GlobalStrike4Palestine #globalstrikeforgaza
What I am hoping for is that LAP will be able to link with us so we can network and spread the strike.
Likewise we can mutually share updates and info about Lakenheath. It looks like the issues are not going to go away......
So, this is the perfect time to break through into a new movement and try to force the government to withdraw all military support for Israel and to let the aid in. The big campaigns and unions refuse to call a General Strike. People are dying, and we just keep marching......... People would have supported a General Strike, but there seems no hope of that. So, we call the strike ourselves!! Can you join the Strike ???? We need you, now is the time. Gaza needs us.
