I have thought of that as I'm going to use a external drive to store the
Monero blockchain.

Actually I do need to Tor for my Monero transactions as I have used
Tails for storing different crypto and using wallets with Tor is crucial
for me.
I was just concerned about doing a 80GB download of the Monero
blockchain over Tor in the sense that not only would take a long time
but also I was under the impression large downloads and torrenting is
hard on the network especially when I'm not giving bandwidth back.

Ok, maybe I should use a Tails DVD-R since I have a cd drive in my
laptop. So that disabling the firewall will be on a read only media.
Heres a good question will I be limited on my RAM which is 16GB and not
be able to download to the external drive completely or is it only when
downloading directly to the Tails operating system that your limited on
space aka how much RAM you have?

Yes I'm familiar with iptables commands not nftables.
