configuration.
Orbot has a Node Configuration in the setting for inputting
"EntryNodes", "ExitNodes", and "ExcludeNodes". It also has an advanced
configuration option to input other torrc lines if the user chooses to
do so.
Customizable Connection Options: Including Orbot settings like stated
above allows users to tailor their connection preferences based on their
specific needs. This flexibility can cater to various use cases, whether
users are engaging in casual browsing or handling sensitive communications.
Advanced Configuration Options: Starting Tor with setting that may help
get past strict firewalls or blocking of Tor like "FascistFirewall 1"
(correct me if it is wrong setting) that only connects on common ports
like 80,433. Or other configuration settings like CircuitBuildTimeout
and MaxCircuitDirtiness etc for users that have longer times to connect.
At the very least, having a "Node Configuration" option would be
beneficial. This would allow users to select specific exit nodes or
regions, giving them more control over their connection and potentially
improving their access to region-specific content. Overall, integrating
Orbot settings into the Tails tca (Tor Connection Assistant) would
create a more fine tuned option if user needed to for there use case.
Currently I don't believe its possible to edit /etc/tor/torrc and
restart the tor.service in the latest version of Tails. So having a way
to add these settings if need be when starting the tca just like how
inputting bridges would be great.
