Many programs use Xorg (and thus XWayland) by default, but it doesn't mean
they cannot run natively on Wayland.
So far I only found that Dasher doesn't work at all, but I don't think it
will change in future. Older version of GIMP doesn't work either, but I
already said that in my opinion it should be removed so you could consider
that. The last one is Pidgin, which you are planning to replace anyway.

I don't think it does, it's probably Wayland-only. However, I still think
that wl-clipboard should be installed by default, because it would be as
useful on Wayland as xclip is useful on Xorg/XWayland.
