Hi, I am a native speaker of German and wanted to contribute to Tails by
translating some pages of the website into German.
So I created an account, got familiar with the translation platform und
finally started translating:
- the homepage (
https://tails.boum.org/index.de.html) and
- the about-page (
https://tails.boum.org/about/index.de.html)
Some parts of these pages had not been translated into German so far, so
I translated them.
Many parts, however, had already been translated into German, but needed
improvements regarding spelling, wording, and technical content. So I
changed these "old" translations into something that was somewhat better
IMHO.
The way I did this was using the "Suggest" button - because I had
learned from the translation docs that a single translator cannot
translate directly, but can only make suggestions and needs an
approvement from a second translator (which makes sense).
This was more than 3 weeks ago - and nothing happened since:
- The "German" pages of the Tails website still show the suboptimal
"old" translations.
- The Weblate pages where I did work do not show any sign of a review.
- Nobody has contacted me.
=> Is this normal?
=> Should I do something more/else than "Suggest" in Weblate?
=> Is my status not "good enough" to get my suggestions reviewed?
=> Or did I misunderstand something or have too high expectations?
