Dear pilar,
Biden promised a year ago to end US support for the war in Yemen. He lied and the situation on the ground is only getting worse. The UAE, one of the countries helping Saudi Arabia bomb & starve Yemen asked President Biden to revert to a Trump policy of designating Yemen's Houthis as a terrorist organization. Biden said last night that it was being considered. Biden shouldn't be considering a policy that will starve more Yemenis.
We need as many petition signatures as we can get. Tell Biden to not designate the Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization!<

Biden has completely failed Yemen. He agreed to sell Saudi Arabia a billion dollars worth of weapons in the last year. He hasn't done anything to end the blockade that is starving millions of Yemenis. Now he is considering making the situation on the ground worse. Being designated by the US as a foreign terrorist organization means that many humanitarian groups will no longer be able to distribute the aid that has been keeping many Yemenis alive. Yemen, more than ever now, needs more aid, not less.
Biden knows if he implements this policy millions of Yemenis will starve.
Take action: Tell Biden the terrorist designation will make the war in Yemen even worse!<

Not only will the terrorist designation block humanitarian aid, but as peace activists we also need to be wary of the way "terrorism" is politicized. The War on Terror brought us into endless wars that we are still working to stop twenty years later. Accusations of "terror" have only brought us more surveillance of Muslims at home and abroad, increased Pentagon spending, and horrible atrocities committed in our name. We have to think critically when confronted with these accusations.
Things in Yemen are dire and not getting better. I hate to come to you with bad news, but please let this motivate you to take action. More than ever, Saudi Arabia and the US need to know that the world is saying no to the war on Yemen.
