FTR, I've discussed this privately with segfault a few weeks ago; he
clarified the bits I was not sure I hand understood correctly and in
the end I happily agreed with the plan.
The only change we made IIRC was that we opened the possibility to
replace live-persist & live-boot's persistence code with a new
Python library.
