I've not read a complete changelog entry for many years but I use it
from time to time:

Occasionally (say a couple times every month on average), in order to
save a minute or 3 when I need the answer to questions like "in which
exact release did we introduce change X?" (the alternative being git
log + git tag --contains $COMMIT).
