Highly possible that the usb is corrupted, will buy new one asap.
I managed to use it with qemu
qemu-system-x86_64 \

The bug :

Still but I found a workaround which consist to delete /usr/share/icons/ and apt-get --reinstall hicolor themes, few icons are stil not displaying but tails can be use.
Very nice profiles apparmor, restricted as hell. I wrote also "hardened profiles apparmor" for my Gentoo, if there is need to write a profiles for a specific apps, I can give a hands. I made one for keepassx
