Nel rispetto della tradizione, ecco la nostra mail dell'inizio
dell'anno, il diciassettesimo nella storia di A/I.
Come possiamo ricordare dalla nostra adolescenza, e come molte di noi
possono vedere nella loro esperienza con le nuove generazioni, il
diciassettesimo anno e' un anno importante. Un anno in cui si cominciano
a tirare le somme di quel che si e' visto, letto, pensato, e a prendere
decisioni per la vita adulta.
Per Autistici/Inventati non e' molto diverso: gia' da qualche anno ci
eravamo rese conto che qualcosa stava cambiando. Nella nostra immagine
riflessa vedevamo cambiamenti notevoli, eppure dentro di noi c'era
confusione, subbuglio. Cominciavamo ad abbozzare qualche idea su cosa
volevamo fare da grandi, ma non eravamo ancora arrivate al punto di
elaborare una vera e propria strategia.
Poi a settembre del nostro sedicesimo anno, solo qualche mese fa,
abbiamo capito che il nostro modello di rischio era cambiato da un pezzo
e non ne avevamo tratto abbastanza tempestivamente le necessarie
conseguenze. I problemi li conoscevamo, a settembre abbiamo capito che
quella conoscenza andava applicata a un nuovo piano quinquennale - un
piano quinquennale non solo per l'infrastruttura tecnica, ma anche per
quella burocratico-legale.
Oltre a una revisione di tutta la rete A/I, che prevede tra l'altro
l'isolamento dei singoli servizi e una messa in sicurezza generale
dell'infrastruttura, abbiamo deciso di rendere piu' sicura anche la
nostra situazione giuridica, passando da un'associazione culturale
semplice a un'associazione riconosciuta.
Questa mossa servira' a garantire l'associazione (e i suoi membri) da
conseguenze legali potenzialmente devastanti e a rendere A/I piu'
resistente alla sfiga nel lungo periodo.
Ma questa mossa costa un sacco di denaro, e per realizzarla abbiamo
bisogno di te piu' che mai.

According to tradition, here's to you our newsletter for the beginning
of the year, which happens to be the seventeenth in A/I's history.
As we can remember from our teenage years, and as many of us can see in
their experience with the new generations, the seventeenth year is an
important moment in life. It's the time when people start taking stock
of what they've seen, read, thought, and making decisions for adult
life.
What we're experiencing as Autistici/Inventati isn't much different - we
had noticed something was changing already some years ago. When looking
at the mirror, we saw clear changes in our reflected image, but inside
us we felt confused, in turmoil. We had started drafting some vision on
what we wanted to become when growing up, but we hadn't developed a
proper strategy yet.
Then, in September of our sixteenth year, just few months ago, we
realized that our threat model had changed dramatically a lot of time
ago and that we hadn't drawn the necessary conclusions in a timely way.
We knew the problems, but last September we figured out that that
knowledge needed to be turned into a quinquiennial plan - not only for
the technical infrastructure, but also on the bureaucratic-legal level.
Besides a review of the whole A/I network, which includes the isolation
of each service and a complete hardening of the infrastructure, we have
decided to secure our juridical situation too, switching from an
unincorporated voluntary association to an incorporated charitable
organization.
This change will help avoid potentially devastating consequences for the
association (and its members), and will make A/I more resilient to bad
luck in the long term.
But to do this we need a lot of money, so if we want to implement this
plan we need you more than ever.
