Can anybody recommend an article on TOR and other
privacy.anonymity-oriented overlay networks? Something not too tech
heavy, for an interdisciplinary crowd.

Tor is an imperfect privacy platform. Ars meets the researchers trying
to replace it.

Oh, another thought--the spelling of Tor is a shibboleth with powerful
signalling properties. Something to check before presenting. :)
