This past Wednesday on July 5, 8 participants and 2 facilitators were
detained during a digital security training in Turkey. Among the people
detained include Idel Eser, director of Amnesty International Turkey.
What makes this particularly worrisome is that Turkey is currently under
a state of emergency that gives authorities extraordinary powers to
detain suspects without access to a lawyer for extended periods.
