Hi LevelUp,
I'm putting tails-l10n@??? in copy which is the mailing list for
the translation of the website and documentation of Tails.
I saw the announcement of your new website on IFF Weekly. Congrats!
It must have been a lot of work!
I'm particularly excited to see that you decided to go for Git + Jekyll.
I'm also an advocate for treating website and documentation as code and
we're using similar tools in Tails, but with ikiwiki [1] instead of Jekyll.
Now, I'm wondering whether you have plans to translate your content, and
if so, which tools you are considering using. At Tails we rely on the PO
plugin of ikiwiki [2] which has been doing a good job for 7 years now
but it also showing some limitations (so does ikiwiki). We're also
having a hard time offering translators a simple interface to submit
translations. We played with a prototype based on Weblate [3] last year
but the integration with the daily changes on the website and our ~400
pages happened to be more complicated than expected.
So, do you have any plans on translating your content, if so using which
tool chain? I would be super interested in sharing thoughts or possible
solutions since we could have similar problems to solve.
