According to the Internet, it has a nVidia GT 930M.

I'm not sure I got it right, so let's try to sum up:

* 2.3
- normal boot: does not start
- failsafe: wrong screen resolution

* with Mesa backports
- normal boot: wrong screen resolution
- failsafe: ???

Is this correct?
