Hi,
at least recent Intel Braswell computers have problems [1] with Tails
since 2.0, and it's been confirmed by several users that these
problems are fixed by upgrading the Mesa packages [2].
I would like to do that in time for Tails 2.4, but I am a little bit
wary of potential regressions on other hardware.
So, I'm hereby asking you folks to try an experimental (no warranty,
you know the drill) ISO image that has this change applied:
1. Make sure that Tails 2.3 works fine on a given computer, in terms
of graphics support (boots fine up to the Greeter, and then you
can login and end up in a working GNOME desktop).
2. Download
http://nightly.tails.boum.org/build_Tails_ISO_feature-11303-mesa-backport/lastSuccessful/archive/latest.iso
3. Install that test ISO image on a USB stick or a DVD.
4. Boot the test ISO image on the same computer as previously,
up to the GNOME desktop.
5. Report back your results on this mailing list, including the output
of the following command:
lspci -nn | grep -i vga
Thanks in advance!
