Sujet: [Tails-l10n] Enabling Italian translation?
Hi,

I think that the Italian translation team reached the point when we
should enabled this new language on our website:

All website PO files
====================

- de: 28% (2222) strings translated, 1% strings fuzzy, 24% words translated
- fa: 62% (4964) strings translated, 3% strings fuzzy, 70% words translated
- fr: 43% (3415) strings translated, 2% strings fuzzy, 41% words translated
- it: 15% (1197) strings translated, 1% strings fuzzy, 14% words translated
- pt: 22% (1766) strings translated, 4% strings fuzzy, 20% words translated

Total original words: 86334

[[Core PO files|contribute/l10n_tricks/core_po_files.txt]]
==========================================================

- de: 95% (1281) strings translated, 3% strings fuzzy, 91% words translated
- fa: 87% (1177) strings translated, 9% strings fuzzy, 79% words translated
- fr: 89% (1204) strings translated, 6% strings fuzzy, 82% words translated
- it: 88% (1195) strings translated, 6% strings fuzzy, 83% words translated
- pt: 78% (1055) strings translated, 13% strings fuzzy, 72% words translated

Total original words: 14400

Regarding our documented requirements:
(https://tails.boum.org/contribute/how/translate/team/new/)

1. 3-4 people are currently active in the team

2. I think that at least one of them is subscribed to this
mailing-list; whoever you are, can you please confirm?
I'm lobbying to convince more of them to subscribe.

3. maintenance: they're aware of this requirement; it's not clear yet
how exactly the updates will flow into the main repository (not
sure they'll use individual repositories + the same workflow as
French and German teams use; weblate might be(come) an option);
I was previously blocking on this to be clarified, before sending
this request here, and then Farsi was enabled without having a very
clear update process either, so I realized that we're more flexible
than I thought in this respect.

4. 25% of strings translated on core pages: as you can see above, they
have 88% of it done currently

The master branch in this Git repo has all the translation work, and
the corresponding scripts and configuration adjustments that I could
think of: https://git-tails.immerda.ch/l10n-italian/tails/

Thoughts, objections?

Cheers,
