Of course this is a key part of the plan, since it will be signed by
Mozilla and served from their secure servers, making an attack on the
overall integrity of this system significantly more difficult.
I've already alerted AMO's admins to prepare for an expedite code
review, and I'm gonna upload it as soon as we agree there are no
significant pending issues (probably this very week).

Unfortunately, it could not. The Add-on SDK API (the most modern yet
compatible with current Firefox and Tor Browser releases framework for
Mozilla extensions) is very different from Chrome's extension APIs.
