> COFUND INSPIRE 2016 à USPC : 30 contrats doctoraux pour des doctorants étrangers
>
> En 2016, l’Université Sorbonne Paris Cité (USPC) avec le soutien de l’Union Européenne, par l’intermédiaire du projet COFUND INSPIRE (Interdisciplinarity and excellence for doctoral training of international researchers in Paris) [1], mettra au concours trente contrats doctoraux destinés à accueillir dans ses équipes de recherche des doctorant.e.s étranger.e.s au meilleur niveau.
>
> Toutes les régions du monde sont concernées. Ces contrats sont de type contrat doctoral, c’est-à-dire de trois ans et avec une rémunération légèrement supérieure à celle des contrats doctoraux.
>
> Les objectifs et les critères d’éligibilité et de sélection des projets sont rappelés ci-dessous. La sélection des candidats est organisée en trois temps : une sélection par les équipes de recherche, une sélection par les écoles doctorales, puis un jury indépendant organisé au niveau de USPC.

> Objectif
>
> Après deux appels à projets en 2014 et 2015 financés par l’Idex USPC, le projet INSPIRE vise à recruter des étudiants étrangers au meilleur niveau international et à soutenir les projets scientifiques des équipes de USPC et notamment leur ancrage international. Ce volant doit permettre également le renforcement de la politique internationale de USPC et d’améliorer sa visibilité internationale.

> Eligibilité
>
> Candidat.e : Le.la candidat.e aura suivi au plus une année d’enseignement en France au cours de son parcours dans l’enseignement supérieur. Il ou elle devra être titulaire d’un Master ou d’un diplôme équivalent avant le 30 septembre 2016.
>
> Ecoles doctorales : Les Ecoles Doctorales participantes sont celles qui sont membre du collège des ED USPC.
>
> Equipes de recherche : L’initiative est ouverte à toutes les équipes rattachées à un établissement membre de USPC. Les projets peuvent être menés dans un cadre collaboratif associant pour une part minoritaire des équipes de recherche hors de USPC.

> 1er décembre – 15 janvier 2016 : dépôt des candidatures via un site dédié qui sera ouvert le 1er décembre 2015
> 1er février 2016 : date limite de validation des candidatures par les ED

> COFUND INSPIRE 2016 at Université Sorbonne Paris Cité: 30 PhD fellowships in all disciplines for excellent international candidates
>
> Université Sorbonne Paris Cité (USPC) will offer 30 highly competitive PhD contracts, to international candidates from all over the world, in 2016 via the INSPIRE (INterdiSciPlinarity and excellence for doctoral training of International REsearchers in Paris) programme. These fellowships are co-financed by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, COFUND and by the French Governement’s Investissements d’avenir programme.
>
> Comprising over 10,000 professors and researchers from its eight higher education institutions (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3, Université Paris Descartes, Université Paris Diderot, Université Paris 13, EHESP, INALCO, IPGP, Sciences Po) and five research institutes (CNRS, INED, INRIA, INSERM and IRD), USPC offers a research-intensive university environment. Each year, approximately 1100, out of more than 6000, doctoral candidates defend their PhD theses, corresponding to about 10% of the annual doctoral cohort in France. Under the auspices of INSPIRE, USPC aims to recruit doctoral candidates of the highest calibre to join its research groups and enhance the standing and visibility of its Graduate Schools, and of the University, at an international level.

> The well-remunerated three-year PhD fellowships will be awarded through a strictly merit-based selection process. > Eligibility Criteria
>
> Academic criterion. Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) need to have completed a Master's degree or an equivalent diploma before 30 September 2016.
> International criterion. ESRs will need to comply with the conditions of the EU-mobility rule (incoming mobility): applicants must not have had their main residence, or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.), in France for more than 12 months during the three years immediately prior to the deadline for the call (15 January 2016); compulsory national service in the home country, and/or short stays such as holidays in France, are not taken into account.
> Submission criterion. All required data and documents need to be submitted via the web-based portal in English or French, by 15 January 2016. Applications will not be considered after that date.
> Research-topic criterion. The proposed research project should be supported by the host research group at USPC and should not be excluded from EU funding due to ethical issues.
>
> Selection Process
>
> The application portal will open on 1 December 2015 – all required documents need to be uploaded in PDF format in English or in French.
>
> Deadline: Applications have to be submitted online by 17H CET on 15 January 2016.
>
> Required documents: CV of applicant and of main advisor, description of research project, motivation of candidate (see website for details and templates). ().

> There will be a three-stage selection process:

> Selection by the research group: as early as possible to ensure all required documents are submitted by 15 January 2016.
> Selection by the doctoral school: 1 February 2016
> Selection by the University following the decision by an independent jury* comprising international and national members : 14 March 2016 – 16 March 2016
> *Candidates will have to present their research project in front of one of four juries: Humanities, or Social Sciences, or Life and Health Sciences, or Exact sciences and technology

> The list of selected candidates will be published online on 17 March 2016.

> International candidates, who would require a visa to be present for the final selection stage in Paris, in March, are strongly encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.
