Just a small update and ping regarding this. We'll actually be having a
sprint to put together all the pieces of the new installation process
between November 9 and 13. So we would need to have at least working
prototypes all Tails Installer for Debian and Ubuntu, the ISO
verification extension and the browser detection code (#9387) for us to
play with by then.
I already tested a .deb that worked on Debian a few weeks back. The
Ubuntu package had some minor issues. So we're doing good there.
I haven't seen any code for the ISO verification extension and would
like to have an .xpi by then. Is that possible? How were you planning
your work Giorgio?
The final user tests are still scheduled for November 20-22, so that
leaves us one more week between our sprint and the tests to release beta
versions of each component in their respective online stores (AMO,
backports.debian.org, Ubunta PPA).
We'll report back on the findings from the user tests around November
25. Then we'll still have 4-5 weeks to polish everything and release
before the end of the year.
