Oggetto: [Tails-project] Fwd: [Debconf-announce] Call for Lightning Talks and Demos
Hi,

I'm pondering demo'ing Tails automated test suite there.

Team "Is Lightning Real?" is pleased to announce the Call for Lightning
Talks and Live Demos for the DebConf15's Lightning sessions.

This year, we are planning to have 5 lightning sessions: 3 Lightning Talks
sessions and 2 Lightning Demo sessions, distributed during the DebConf days.

One of each shall be held during the Open Weekend. For these sessions, we
are looking for submissions that are targeted towards the community in
general, as well being of interest to Debian contributors.

Two other sessions will be held during the DebConf week. Submissions can
include anything related to Debian even if it's for very specific topics.

One final session of Lightning Talks will take place on the closing day, and we
would love to hear about the work done during DebCamp and DebConf.

The Lightning Talks/Live Demos schedule is as follows:
Talks Saturday 15 August, 15:30-16:30
Demos Sunday 16 August, 18:00-19:00
Talks Thursday 20 August, 15:00-16:00
Demos Friday 21 August, 14:00-15:00
Talks Saturday 22 August, 15:00-16:00

Submit your Talk or Demo
------------------------

To submit your talk or demo proposal, send us a notice to
islightningreal@??? with the type (talk or demo), topic, talk name
description and comments

Subject: (Lightning Talk|Live Demo) proposal: $NAME
Name: $NAME
Type: (Talk|Demo)
Topic: $TOPIC
Description: $DESCRIPTION
Comments: $COMMENTS

attaching the slides, if any. The slides can be submitted afterwards, if you
prefer, but if they are not submitted before the sessions there will be no
slides during the talk.

During DebConf you'll be able to add your proposal at Front Desk as usual,
but if you have slides you'll need to submit them by email.

Sessions format
---------------

The Lightning Talks format will be 5 minutes per talk, 8 talks during a 45
minutes session. There may be a short waiting list in case some of the talks
are shorter.

The Lightning Demos format will be 10 minutes per demo, 4 demos during a
45 minutes slot, with no waiting list.

Additional comments
-------------------

For the Talks, we *require* the slides (if any) to be submitted before hand
and we won't switch laptops during the session.

For the Demos, whenever possible, we would prefer to have all the demos in a
single laptop and avoid the dead time switching hardware, otherwise please
coordinate with us to do a hardware test before the talk, and plan to have
someone else to help you set up the hardware while you are still presenting
the topics.
