Hi Tails folks--
Christian Huitema recently did a privacy review of DHCP, spurred by the
privacy discussions with the IETF. It's worth reading his descriptions:
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-huitema-perpass-dhcp-identifiers-00
This was written in response to a call from Stephen Farrell to help
think through privacy implications of DHCP on the grounds that a new
revision of DHCP may be in order:
https://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/perpass/current/msg01767.html
If anyone has thoughts on the draft or on DHCP's privacy issues to pass
back to the IETF, i'd be happy to relay them (or you can mail the
perpass list or Christian yourself, of course).
I think Tails is already dealing appropriately with several of the
issues Christian raises, but i haven't reviewed them all.
Regards,
