i forgot to mention this: please also read

locally for testing purposes.
It takes indeed quite some time to set this all up, but once it's done,
it's really easy, quick and clean and thus ensures quality work (i think
this system is great! even though it's not that easy to set up, i also
struggled with it in the first place, but at least one learns something
new by doing it ;) )
po-files of the website are in wiki/src. You may also want to consider
using grep to find a particular file.
The files in the po folder (as said in the archives of the mailing list)
are those which are pulled from Transifex (and which are not part of the
website).
what might be helpful too, is to say on the list on which files you
intend to work, so we are not all doing stuff twice - as there are
several translators for german here.
