I'm surprised your investigations didn't include any geometry sans ala
Futura which we have been using on the website for ages. For example:

And also, from a methodology point of view, I can't really choose a font
before having a broader idea of the visual concept we want to carry. If
we go for the cartoon cats of BitingBird or the cat by Carmie the font
will end up being different I guess.
