Hi,
commenting on Find bridges button [1]...
The wget commands won't work anymore, since bridges.torproject.org now
asks for captcha.
A find bridges button is generally a nice-to-have feature, if it's
clear, that it's a reachability/circumvention feature rather than
hide-your-Tor-usage feature.
As an easier-to-implement-and-still-helpful solution, a Find bridges
button could be a textual feature, explaining bridges.torproject.org and
the gettor discovery method. Eventually explaining how to extract them
from the pluggable transports bundle and linking to recourses how to
setup private obfuscated bridges.
I am not sure if it's very future proof to implement that feature into
Vidalia. It's unmaintained for a long time, no maintainer on the
horizon. The Tor Project is going to drop Vidalia in favour of the
tor-launcher browser addon. (Mike said so [2].)
Cheers,
adrelanos
