The tap-touchpad-to-click functionality is now desactivated by
default[1], and should be manually activated in:
System → Preferences → Mouse
then Touchpad → "Enable mouse clicks with touchpad",
or, depending on the Touchpad model, with the following command line:
synclient tapbutton1=1
