London Metropolitan University's Working Lives Research Institute (WLRI)
has just secured a new full-funded PhD studentship in a Marie Curie
project, Changing Employment, headed by Strathclyde University. This
exciting new international comparative European Initial Training Network
(ITN) of Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and Experienced Researchers (ERs)
preparing for doctoral and post doctoral research, is amongst a small
number of multi disciplinary social science programmes to be awarded
funding in the current Marie Curie awards under the European Union's
Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development (FP7).
The ITN, co-ordinated by the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow), has
successfully obtained 4,060,000 Euros to support the network bringing
together new and recent post graduate researchers working on an
international post graduate research programme supervised by
internationally renowned senior academics. Language training will be
provided where required.
The fixed-term three year appointment is due to commence from February 2013
and is a Marie Curie funded Early Stage Research Fellow post. In line with
the Marie Curie funding requirements, applicants must have not have lived
in the UK for more than 12 of the last 36 months.
This post is Marie Curie Fellow (PhD/Early Stage Researcher-ESR5) and will
involve research in Spain. Its project title is: 'Life on the Margins - the
social implications of precarious work specifically in relation to young
minority ethnic workers'. As some of the fieldwork will take place at
Oviedo in Spain, the post will thus involve mobility
spending some time in Spain.
