Yes, for the short run it's fine. For IPv6 later either torsocks needs
to be patched or another solution has to be found.

I have no idea. I am just reading lots of stuff and try to be helpful by
connecting the exiting knowledge. If I find a solution, I'll post again.

After reading that all, I can only say the whole thing is a big mess.
Only half baked solutions, issues and open questions.

I have no imagination on how much founding/sponsorship you got nor if
any torproject.org sponsors could be talked into sponsoring this feature.

Perhaps paying someone for:
add http proxy support to Tor
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/6060
would be a clean solution. How much $ would it cost?

Maybe such kind of issues should be collected and then start some kind
of crowd founding?
