dear fnf-parner,
you received this mail because your organization was a partner of
Freedom Not Fear in 2008, 2009 or 2010 and we would like to have you on
board again when we demonstrate for digital, net-neutrality and privacy
and against surveillance and censorship in September 2011.
we are working right now on relaunching freedom not fear 2011. the plan
is to have a blog this year - instead of a webpage. all partner
organizations then would get an account and could start to blog about
their events in their #country and #town giving some basic information
for partners, public and press.
we would like to start our mass-mailing this week. before that i just
wanted to ask the groups that supported freedom not fear in the last
year(s) whether you would be interested in such a shared blog? it would
be important that you somehow agree upon people who can speak for your
protest so that we can give them accounts.
another reason to write this email is to find new supporters and
reactivate old ones. writing your contact detail on a wikipage for your
country does not imply that you have already decided upon whether to do
some actions or not - it can also be a signal for others that you are
looking for other groups to support you. also, it would be nice if
organizations who never had cooperated with us before and have a look at
the wiki during the next weeks do not see empty spaces, but instead a
lot of potential partners who are looking forward to find some helping
hands in order to fight for our digital rights.
we would like to know if a action week between 10.09-19.09. would be
convenient for you. we think that this week would be good for a
coordinated action week because the german ak-vorrat group and the group
that wants to organize a protest in brussels already decided to launch
their demonstrations during this period. but of course as always -
everyone is free to find a more convenient date. but the public impact
of every single action might be multiplied if we manage to link our
actions somehow. and even if we chose different dates: we kindly invite
you to blog about it on freedomnotfear.org.
we noticed, that this link between organizations and countries must be
improved by having some common platform. the wiki was nice and useful,
and also in this year we will continue to use it for internal and
organizational stuff.
but a blog would maybe be more effective when it comes to communication
to the press and the public. also we are interested whether there are
special upcoming topics in your country.
if you somehow notice that some of the organizations that you have been
cooperating with did not get this mail - please let me know. sometimes
it is hard to find an email-address if you do not understand the
language of the homepage...
