Thanks a lot for your contribution. It at least has the merit of
highlighting the drawbacks of our current documentation. I've just
pushed a version of the build documentation that tries to address the
issue you have had. Feedback welcome.

See my comments bellow about your proposed patch.

Manually editing such generated configuration files is strongly
recommended against by the Debian Live authors and documentation...
with good reasons. The only supported ways of configuring the build
process are:

- using live-build's config file: /etc/live/build.conf
- using "lb config" in a clean build tree

This is far better.

> +    --archive-areas "main contrib non-free" \


Running "lb config" already does this, see auto/config.

> +    --apt-secure false \


This is not the kind of things I'd want to recommend in our official
documentation. IMHO a build environment / local Debian mirror that
requires this setting is badly broken.

We'll probably need volatile a lot during the Squeeze life cycle.

Same as for --apt-secure. Maybe you need a security.debian.org local
mirror as well?

This is already done by plain "lb config", see auto/config.
