Hi,
I am very happy to see work is being done on T(A)ILS end-user
documentation.
I would prefer if images included in a specific wiki page were
attached to that wiki page, rather than put into wiki/src/lib/.
IMHO this lib/ directory is better suited for images that are used all
around the website by lower-level stuff (e.g. CSS and templates).
The ikiwiki attachments mechanism allows attaching arbitrary files to
a given page, e.g.:
wiki/src/dir/page.mdwn
wiki/src/dir/page/picture.png
=> the picture.png file is attached to the page.mdwn page.
Advantages of this approach:
1. It's easy to track attached files, their usage or lack thereof.
2. Attached files can be managed (added, updated, removed IIRC) using
ikiwiki's web interface.
3. It avoids lib/ to quickly become filled by a ton of images
whose only shared property is... to be images.
Bye,
