The School of Management and Governance offers undergraduate and
graduate training in business and in the social sciences. The School
focuses on management, governance, innovation, technology and
entrepreneurship. In all these fields, the School provides bachelor,
master and professional development programmes. In addition, scientific
and applied research is carried out in various settings, such as health
care, tertiary education, banking, and service business industries.
Research is accommodated within the university research institutes: The
Institute for Governance Studies (IGS), and the Centre for Telematics
and Information Technology (CTIT). The School has approximately 350
staff and 2,200 students. The Center for Higher Education Policy Studies
(CHEPS) is an interdisciplinary research institute at the University of
Twente, located within the School of Management and Governance. CHEPS is
one of the world's leading centres of excellence and relevance in its
field and has a strong international presence. Its research, education
and consultancy activities focus on higher education and research policy
at the institutional, national and international levels. CHEPS is has a
vacancy for a Senior Research Associatein Higher Education Policy Studies
Profile
We are looking for candidates with a strong track record of research in
the social sciences and an interest in higher education and research
policy. Research fields of particular relevance include governance and
management; economics and finance; human resources; and quality
assurance. We would also welcome applications from candidates whose
primary experience has been in higher education policy work. CHEPS is
active in research, in post-graduate education and in consultancy. We
are interested in applications ranging from post-docs to senior researchers.
Tasks
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to contribute
to this broad portfolio of activities and is envisaged to participate in
basic and applied research projects, in project acquisition, in the
supervision of PhD candidates, in education and in consultancy activities.
Employment conditions
We offer a challenging research position in a leading research centre in
the field of higher education policy. This is an opportunity to join a
dynamic multi-national team of 20 researchers with an extensive
international network. We offer a fulltime position (38 hours a week)
for the duration of two years and potential future prospects. The salary
scale, depending on your experience, extends to a maximum of EUR 4970
gross per month, based upon the job profile of Researcher level 2 (in
accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
