Hi everyone,
This is an invitation to take part in the Eclectic
Tech Carnival that
will
take place in July in Linz, Austria. The ETC 2007 is
hosted by a
cooperation
between servus.at, the local art server here, MAIZ, an
organization of
and
for migrant women in Upper Austria, and
Stadtwerkstatt, an independent
cultural organization. In keeping with the special
interests of the
women
from these organizations, in particular there will be
special workshops
on
software and tools for activism, for example, in
addition to
performances and
hands-on experience.

The "Eclectic Tech Carnival" invites all women to
participate in the
6th annual /Eclectic Tech Carnival (/etc for short) in
Linz: A
unique computer skill-sharing opportunity. A several
day-night
carnival of exchanging computer related skills for
women by women.
For the first time, we will hold 2 /etcs in the same
year, one in
Linz and one in Brasil. In Linz, the "Eclectic Tech
Carnival" will
be focusing on themes of gender, technology and art.
Along with
workshops on critical ways of dealing with everyday
technologies,
there will also be space for women to be politically,
creatively,
performatively, artistically active.
