SELECTION OF VOLUNTEERS Un Ponte per. will select volunteers on the basis of personal motivation and the possession of the required skills.
TRAINING OF VOLUNTEERS Un Ponte Per. will organize in Florence a meeting between the selected Italian volunteers at the end of April.
Training for volunteers will be held to give information about the geo-political situation of the Turkish Kurdistan, to provide some linguistic tools and to organize the field activities.
A different meeting would be organized for foreigner volunteers, if necessary.
SPECIFICATIONS OF VOLUNTEERS
1. Age 21-35
2. Good knowledge of spoken English
3. Basic knowledge of photography
4. Previous experience in volunteering
5. Participation in the training meetings
6. Good attitude for working with teenagers
ACTIVITIES The volunteers will organize, in cooperation with the Group Coordinator, a course of photography for a small group of teenagers aged 8/13.
The course is focused to give to the teenagers a powerful instrument of communication with which they would be able to describe, from their point-of-view, their life. The volunteers will support the coordinator during the activities and will write a diary/report about their experience.
The outcome of the field work will be published in Italy to awaken the general public to the living conditions of children in East Turkey.
CULTURAL EVENTS The magnificent archeological site of Izak Pasha, only few minutes from Dogubayazit, and the Ararat Mountain are only two of the main historical and natural monuments of the neighbourhood of Dogubayazit.
PARTICIPATION FEE At the training meeting in Italy: 80 Euro. 20 Euro insurance approx.
At the arrival in Dogubayazit: 150 Euro for accommodation and food and the material to be utilized for the activities.
Internal transportation: 50 Euro approx.

EXPENSES The flight will cost approx. 400 Euro per person. It is advisable that volunteers will fly all together in order to obtain a group fare.
Other expenses will be on personal basis. VISA upon entrance in Turkey will cost about 10 Euros for Italian citizens.

Il Servizio Civile Internazionale, fra le altre attività, organizza campi di lavoro in Asia, Africa e America Latina, sostenendo i progetti più disparati.
E' una esperienza che può rappresentare una occasione di crescita personale importante per chi è interessato alle questioni sociali, politiche ed economiche nel Sud del Mondo.
Per partecipare ai questi campi è indispensabile intervenire a due incontri preparatori della durata di un fine settimana ciascuno.
Il gruppo locale SCI di Bari sta organizzando il primo livello di formazione per gli interessati che risiedono nel Sud Italia.
Obiettivo dell'incontro è stabilire un primo contatto degli aspiranti volontari con l'associazione, informando su finalità e modalità del lavoro dello SCI nei paesi del sud del mondo. Nel seminario sarà presentata l'associazione e la sua filosofia, si ascolteranno le testimonianze di chi è già partito, si rifletterà insieme sulle relazioni Nord/Sud e sulle dinamiche di gruppo legate all'esperienza del campo di lavoro. Saranno sempre utilizzate metodiche che prevedono il protagonismo degli stessi partecipanti.
L'incontro si terrà i giorni 2 e 3 aprile a Bari.
Raccoglieremo le adesioni degli interessati a partecipare fino al 25 marzo.
