Do increased levels of electoral support for European parties
campaigning
against labour migrants, asylum-seekers and ethnic minorities suggest
that
Centre-Right political parties are more in tune with European
electorates than
their Centre-Left counterparts? What determines how and when the topic
of
immigration is incorporated into the public political sphere? Do only
extremist
or anti-system parties strive for high visibility in relation to this
issue? Is
labour migration the real issue driving political behaviour towards
immigration?
The aim of this conference is to focus on the approach of political
parties to
