Subject: Re: [Tails-dev] Instructions to attend the contributors meetings
Hey,

Here is the solution ! The instructions at https://riseup.net/chat made me realize I should not attempt to connect to the server but simply add a chat to the server I'm already using (in the Buddy menu). Apparently the more recent versions of Pidgin do not call this a Room but a Chat. And there is no mention of TLS/SSL in the menu but that probably is the default nowadays because ... it worked :-)

Cheers

I wonder if there are detailed instructions somewhere, maybe with screenshots ? For instance I'm not sure if I'm supposed to provide a password, should the nick I pick be autoregistered ? It is recommended to use TLS/SSL but the closest approximation I found is "use encryption if available" in the "Advanced" tab. And pidgin only shows "Unable to connect" in the GUI which is not much help to debug the situation ;-)
