NEXT FEMINIST ACTIVIST FORUM MEETING, SATURDAY 7th
JUNE @ LAMBETH YOUNG
WOMEN's PROJECT, 166a Stockwell Rd. 12-5. all genders
are welcome.

The Feminist Activist Forum was launched at Ladyfest
Leeds 07 to engage
with
intergenerational feminism and the question of
feminist history. On
it's
first birthday FAF has already seen 7 national
forums, two training
days
on
feminist history and immigration issues, and several
national feminist
events in England and Ireland.

FAF is an ambitious and long-term project, run by
volunteers, forging
a
collaborative
networking space where feminists from all generations
and positions
can
meet each other and act on common political goals.

The idealism that underpins the project - that there
can be unity in
diversity - has been tempered by the difficulties
faced in the reality
of
engaging in challenging coalitional work.

To reflect this, the next Feminist Activist Forum
meeting will focus
on
the organisational process of the network, in order
to develop
transparent,
efficient working practices and further build
intergenerational
alliances. We will also discuss FAF's 'Safe space
policy' which would
allow autonomous FAF groups to organise events to
specific needs: be
they
spaces open to all genders, poly-trans inclusive, all
identified women
inclusive, or women-born-women only.

The other part of the meeting will be focused on
upcoming projects
members of the network are involved in, including:

* Trans/ feminism Learning Exchange
* Conference collaboration with feminist fightback
* Feminist Freeschool

Plus, the opportunity to hear from other groups and
individuals about
their projects and FAF suggestions.

The meeting is taking place from 12-5 @ Lambeth YOung
Women's Project,
166a Stockwell Rd, nearest tube, Brixton.

A music and spoken-word
fundraiser will follow in the evening including monday
club, jay
bernard &
drunk granny. 5£ entry includes a tasty (vegan) meal!
All genders
welcome
to both events. Please see
