here the resolution on a call for boycott of Israel as
it was formulated at the international Women in Black
conference in Valencia a couple of weeks ago.

from what i heard, there were discussions and
disagreements about the British academic boycott (or
more precisely: the British trade unions boycott of
Israel that is focused on different sectors of
society, including the cultural and academic sector),
which is reflected in the formulation of this call for
boycott.
also interesting to note is a strong and vital Israeli
presence within Women in Black, which began its
inspiring actions in Jerusalem, in the wake of the
(first) Palestinian Intifada.

CALL FOR THE BOYCOTT OF ISRAEL
We Women in Black who have been in the street all
these past years demanding an end to occupation, stop
the wall
We Women from 40 countries, meeting at this 14th
International Meeting Women in Black,
We believe that there is no military solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
We see that all peace attempts have failed so far.
Occupation has been taking place for more than 40
years and ethnic cleansing has been practiced and is
practiced against Palestinians, whose suffering is
constantly increasing.
This is why we see no other choice but calling all
Women in Black groups to join in the campaign for:
BOYCOTT SANCTIONS DISINVESTMENT
The boycott we are suggesting at this stage is a
targeted boycott covering:
arms and military collaboration of our countries with
Israel
enterprises who are collaborating and benefitting from
the occupation
products of the settlements.
This boycott can evolve into a cultural boycott and
ultimately into a total boycott (of all products from
Israel) if Israel does not respect Palestinian rights
and abide by UN decisions.
We are aware that an academic boycott has been
launched against those Israeli University members who
are not taking a clear stand against the occupation.
