interessante campagna di adbusters.org negli USA: spegnere la TV per una
settimana, dal 21 al 27 aprile

Passi pi=C3=B9 tempo a guardare programmi sulla natura che a fare esperienz=
a=20

[spot radiofonico,=20

originale]
----------
Do you spend more time watching nature programs than experiencing the=20
real thing? More time laughing at TV jokes than joking around yourself?=20
More time watching TV sex than making love yourself?

Then there's something you're missing.

Television isn't real, but the addiction is.
-----------
TV Turnoff Week 2003 (April 21-27)

Some abstained from hockey playoffs, others shunned sweeps week.

Thanks to you, we raised enough cash ($2010) to successfully air our=20
15-second "TV Head" spot at the beginning of the week, on CNN Headline=20
News, April 20.

Alas, we weren't so lucky with MTV. At first they said "maybe." Then=20
they buckled under profit pressure and said "no." We asked "why," and=20
they candidly explained.

After Lisa Flythe, director of MTV's clearance department, explained she=20
couldn't run such a "controversial" ad . . . she got fired. We called up=20
and down the chain of command for more info and got stonewalled from top=20
to bottom. "Lisa doesn't work here anymore."

Of course, we can only speculate why Lisa no longer works at MTV. We=20
like to think its because she spoke the truth in a corporate environment=20
- the truth about freedom of speech and access to the airwaves. We're=20
still waiting for a response from MTV.

Then when jammers tried to rant on MTV's message boards, the corporate=20
door closed:

"Your post has been deleted or edited because it is off-topic,=20
inappropriate or disruptive to ongoing conversations. Further violations=20
of the MTV.com Terms of Service could result in the closure of your=20
MTV.com member account. Please review both the Terms of Service and=20
Community Guidelines before posting again. Thank you, MTV.com"

We need to keep up the pressure for free speech. It's time to let MTV=20
know that We The People have just as much right to the airwaves as those=20
who play the pro-corporate game:

* get on air (check out their casting call) and speak your mind when the=20
camera rolls

* clog their message boards with your vote for media democracy, your=20
passion for access to the airwaves, and your penchant to dis the=20
corporate-message mongers (if at first you don't succeed, try and try=20
again)

* jam their rants and raves page with your beef about MTV rejecting=20
Adbusters' 15-second TV Turnoff uncommercial

* tell their own master prankster Ashton Kutcher that MTV needs to be=20
PUNK'D

* call MTV HQ and plug their phones with your rants to keep the airwaves=20
free: 1-212-258-8000

* generate your own anti-MTV jams and let us know
