Sono annichilita: mentre la guerra degli anglo-americani infuria in =
Iraq, pi=F9 furiosa del solito semina dolore quella israeliana in =
Palestina. Ancora una volta colpito, intenzionalmente, un pacifista =
internazionale. Ormai il tab=F9 =E8 stato infranto con l'uccisione =
deliberata di Rachel Corrie e l'esercito israeliano, con i suoi =
responsabili militari e politici non ha pi=F9 remore di alcun tipo.
Urge che li colpiamo l=EC dove solo sono sensibili: il portafogli. =
Rilanciamo il boicottaggio dei prodotti israeliani e dei marchi che =
sovvenzionano questo stato di Israele.
Vi riporto l'ultimo l'avvenimento di cui ho avuto notizia: 1) la mia =
traduzione; 2) il testo originale in inglese,3) Prodotti e supermercati =
da boicottare.=20
Scrivete, per favore, anche lettere di informazione e di protesta a =

Alle 6,30 circa del pomeriggio del 5 aprile,
Brian Avery, di 24 anni, New Mexico, =E8 stato colpito in faccia da una =
macchina da sparo di un blindato per il trasporto di persone.
Il 5 aprile l'esercito israeliano ha imposto il secondo giorno di =
coprifuoco alla popolazione della citt=E0 di Jenin. Gruppi di giovani =
uomini e di ragazzi continuano la loro resistenza al coprifuoco =
avventurandosi nelle strade tirando pietre ai carri armati e ad altri =
veicoli militari.=20
Verso le 6,30 del pomeriggio Brian ed un altro volontario internazionale =
si trovavano nella sede di Jenin del Movimento Internazionale di =
Solidarit=E0, quando hanno udito rumore di spari provenire dal centro =
della citt=E0. Essi hanno lasciato l'appartamento per investigare ed =
hanno percorso un centinaio di metri, quando sono giunti all'incrocio =
principale ed hanno visto due blindati da trasporto di personale che =
avanzavano verso di loro lentamente. Non c'erano Palestinesi nella =
strada, n=E9 armati n=E9 in altro modo.
Alla vista del veicolo blindato, i due attivisti gi=E0 in piedi hanno =
alzato le mani sulla testa.
Il primo blindato per il trasporto di personale, quando era a 50 metri =
da loro, ha esploso un colpo (stimato 15 giri) al suolo davanti a loro, =
cos=EC che essi sono stati investiti da una pioggia di proiettili rotti =
e pietre. Tobias, il compagno di Brian, =E8 saltato di lato. E' scappato =
per circa tre passi quando si =E8 guardato indietro per vedere Brian che =
giaceva a faccia in terra sulla strada in una pozza di sangue.
Tobias e Brian sono stati raggiunti da altri quattro attivisti dell' ISM =
che sono arrivati sulla scena dello sparo da un'altra strada. Tutti e =
sei (? 5!) si sono precipitati a soccorrerlo, appena i due veicoli =
blindati hanno girato senza fermarsi. Il giovane era in s=E9, ma quando =
si =E8 sollevato da terra gli altri hanno visto che la sua guancia =
sinistra era stata fatta saltar via completamente.=20
Gli attivisti allora hanno provveduto per i primi soccorsi per lui ed =
hanno chiamato un'ambulanza che lo ha trasportato all'ospedale "Martyr =
Doctor Khalil Suleiman" di Jenin, dove (...) uno specialista a cui =E8 =
stato chiesto di esaminare la sua ferita ha raccomandato di =
trasportarlo immediatamente all'ospedale di Afula in Israele, ma la sua =
partenza =E8 stata ritardata perch=E9 i militari iasraeliani hanno =
rifiutato di garantire il passaggio della sua ambulanza, che =E8 stato =
ritardato di pi=F9 di un'ora. =20
Dall'ospedale di Afula Brian =E8 stato trasportato ad uno di Haifa in =
elicottero.
Per le stesse regole di combattimento dell'esercito israeliano ai =
soldati non =E8 permesso far fuoco per avvertimento con le armi montate =
sui veicoli. Essi possono sparare colpi di avvertimento con armi leggere =
imbracciate e devono puntare lontano da coloro che stanno avvertendo.
Quando =E8 stato colpito Brian indossava una maglia rosso fluorescente =
con una croce catarifrangente avanti e dietro.

Today at about 6.30 pm Brian Avery, 24, of New Mexico was shot in the =
face by a burst of machine gun fire from an Israeli Armoured Personnel =
Carrier. The circumstances surrounding his injury are as follows:

Today the Israeli army of occupation operating in the Jenin area imposed =
its second day of curfew on the people of the city. Groups of young men =
and boys continued their resistance to the curfew by venturing out onto =
the streets to throw stones at tanks and other military vehicles.

At about 6.30 pm Brian and another ISM activist were at the ISM's Jenin =
headquarters when they heard the sound of gunfire coming from the centre =
of the city, about two blocks away. They left the apartment to =
investigate and had traveled about a hundred metres when they arrived at =
a major crossroad and saw two armoured personnel carriers advancing =
towards them at low speed. There were no Palestinians on the streets in =
the area, armed or otherwise.

At the sight of the armoured vehicles both activists stood still and =
raised their hands above their heads.
=20
When the first armoured personnel carrier was 50 metres from them it =
fired a burst of machine gun fire (an estimated 15 rounds) at the ground =
in front of them so that they were sprayed by a shower of broken bullets =
and stones. Tobias, Brian's companion, leapt aside. He had fled about =
three steps when he looked back to see Brian lying face down on the road =
in a pool of blood.

Tobias and Brian were then joined by four other ISM activists who had =
arrived at the scene of the shooting by a different route. All six of =
them rushed to help him as the two armoured vehicles rolled past without =
stopping. He was conscious but when he raised himself from the ground =
they saw that his left cheek has been almost totally shot off.

The activists then performed first aid on him and phoned for an =
ambulance which took him to the Martyr Doctor Khalil Suleiman Hospital =
in Jenin where he was treated for shrapnel wounds to his face including =
bone fractures below the eyes, lacerations of the tongue and lacerations =
of his left cheek. A specialist was called in to examine his injuries =
and recommended that he be transferred immediately to a hospital in =
Afula in Israel but his departure was delayed because the Israeli =
military refused to grant his ambulance safe passage for more than an =
hour.

Under the Israeli Army's own rules of engagement soldiers are not =
permitted to fire warning shots with mounted weapons. They may fire =
warning shots with light hand held weapons and must aim away from the =
people they are warning.

When he was shot Brian was wearing a fluorescent red vest with a =
reflective white cross on its back and front.

Ancora un pacifista internazionale colpito intenzionalmente =

Dopo l'uccisione della pacifista Rachel Corrie, non sembra che =
l'esercito israeliano abbia dato mostra di alcun senso di moderazione =
n=E9 di opportunit=E0, quello della legalit=E0 lo ha ampiamente perso da =
tempo.
Chiediamo che la stampa italiana, gi=E0 cos=EC poco "autonoma" nel =
riferire le sciagurate vicende della guerra in Iraq, e cos=EC =
stabilmente avara di informazioni sulla Palestina (a meno che non ci sia =
un tentativo kamikaze), cerchi di espletare almeno un minimo quella che =
=E8 la sua fondamentale funzione in paese democratico, dando almeno le =
pi=F9 eclatanti notizie relative alla sottaciuta guerra di sempre nel =
Vicino Oriente. Questo ci sembra davvero un episodio gravissimo, che =
dovrebbe impensierire non solo in relazione all'annoso conflitto, ma =
anche al fatto che la sua escalation non solo non risparmia pi=F9 i =
cittadini di altri paesi, ma fa di essi un bersaglio prescelto.=20
Chiediamo ai rappresentanti delle Istituzioni Italiane di uscire =
dall'inerte ed ambiguo ruolo assunto e di divenire promotori reali della =
rinascita del diritto internazionale, oggi cos=EC pericolosamente =
infranto dalle sconfortanti esibizioni di forza. In particolare =
chiediamo che Essi manifestino al governo israeliano ed alla Knesset =
preoccupazione per il mancato rispetto della legalit=E0 nei territori =
palestinesi che il loro stato occupa e per la loro crescente =
aggrassivit=E0 verso cittadini stranieri.

impensierire non solo in relazione all'annoso conflitto, ma anche al =

la sua escalation non solo non risparmia pi=F9 i <FONT=20
size=3D3><STRONG>cittadini di altri paesi</STRONG></FONT>, ma fa di essi =
