VoteNoWar on Election Day

Millions of people who believe in peace are going to the=20
polls today hoping their vote will make a difference and=20
help stop George Bush's planned war on Iraq. Another part=20
of the population that also opposes war on Iraq has now=20
become alienated from the electoral process altogether and=20
will not be going to the polls. We encourage everyone=20
today, November 5th, Election Day, to let your friends,=20
family members, neighbors and co-workers know they should=20
also participate in a People's Ant-War Referendum Vote by=20
going to VoteNoWar.org or by signing paper referendums=20
which are downloadable from the VoteNoWar.org web site.

Let your friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers=20
see the true face of the anti-war movement -- yours -- by=20
encouraging people to vote in the referendum. You will=20
give confidence to many who have quietly and personally=20
opposed this war drive, and who may have been given the=20
false impression by the media, the Administration and the=20
Congress that the country supports the violent aggression=20
of Bush's potentially nuclear "preemptive" war policy.

At the time that Congress reconvenes in January, 2003, the=20
People's Peace Congress, representing tens of millions of=20
people in this country and around the world, will convene=20
in Washington, D.C. as part of a continuing mobilization=20
against the war. The results of the People's Anti-War=20
Referendum as they are tabulated will be released to the=20
world through an international public relations campaign=20
and will be also brought to People's Peace Congress as it=20
convenes in January.

HERE ARE 5 WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

1) Register your vote by signing the referendum at=20
http://www.votenowar.org/referendum.html

2) Download the VoteNoWar referendum and collect votes in=20
your area (this is very easy, only Acrobat Reader is=20
required). You can also download a two-sided flyer=20
explaining both the People's Anti-War Referendum and the=20
January 18-19 mobilization. The referendum can be=20
downloaded at http://www.votenowar.org/referendum.pdf and=20
the flyer at http://www.votenowar.org/flyer.pdf. If you=20
have problems downloading the flyers, call us at=20
202-332-5757 and we'll send you a packet in the mail.

After you download and reproduce the referendum and=20
flyers, ask you friends, co-workers, neighbors and family=20
to Vote No to War. Hand out flyers or set up a table in=20
front of a supermarket, at a college or high school, at a=20
place of worship, or at a metro station.

3) Send people you know information about the People's=20
Anti-War Referendum. You can forward this message to=20
personal contacts or email listserves, or go to=20
http://161.58.14.9/cgi-bin/birdcast_clm2.pl?Tell+your+friends+about+the+A=
nti-War+Referendum=3DClick+here+to+send+e-mail=20
and enter the names of up to five people and they will be=20
sent general information about the campaign.

4) Add a link to VoteNoWar.org to your website -- or=20
suggest that others do this. Go to=20
http://www.votenowar.org/add_link.html for a graphic=20
button and instructions (it's very simple, you just cut=20
and paste one single line of HTML code onto your web=20
page).

5) Make a donation to advance the anti-war movement at=20
http://www.votenowar.org/donate.html .
